News

I have news! And it’s not the bad “we’re working on a cure so try to stay positive while making your end plans” kind.

highly irritable was nominated at Babble.com for a Top Blogger Award! A legitimate website not involving the sale of home dust control devices or penis enlargers!

This is very exciting for me, since the last thing I won was a ‘sleeping’ goldfish at the 1980 County Fair. But I don’t think my Dad is going to make me flush this one.  And I’ll tell you this: if he tries, I’m gonna hide his cigarettes again.

And you’re gonna, right?

But wait; there’s more…

Starting November 2010, I will be participating in Macleans Magazine University Student Panel. Throughout the year I will submit video and written clips to discuss various University related topics. I really hope they do a “How to handle a noisy roommate” segment because I’ve developed some interesting coping mechanisms, not all of which include unbridled access to the candy bowl and television remote control.

You can check out the 2011 Macleans University Ranking Issue on stands now. I will have a small profile and picture inside.  Be kind. I don’t photgraph well under pressure. Or in daylight.  Also worth noting: I am old enough to be most of the other student’s mother, or at very least their cool aunt with the ‘Alice in Chains’ CD’s.

I’d love your comments on the video pieces both here (I will blog about them – typically to relay my despair at appearing on camera during daylight hours) and over at the Macleans OnCampus YouTube Channel.  I appear under my real name ‘Jeni Marinucci’ and sadly, not my desired alias of  ‘Smarty McSmartypants.’

Whatever, Macleans.
